There was no need to stray far from home last weekend, as a handful of classic rides were coming to me. The Walteria BMC was hosting their annual car show just down the hill in South Torrance. The show, which benefits local schools and youth activities, was a chance for some local car collectors to show off their rides.
Some of our favorite classic cars and hot rods showed up, including Chuck Schauwecker with his Paradise Road built “Rod”riguez and a sweet ’33 Ford Roadster known as “Kool 33.” Classic Rides Photography showed up with their newly acquired ’68 Mustang and in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, Rick Brown brought “Black Evil” – a tricked out 565HP 1940 Ford Coupe.
While much of the nation is transitioning into Fall, we are still experiencing beach weather. As the day wore on, it was welcome relief to get out of the hot sun and cool off at the Walteria Business Men’s Club. Here, car owners and spectators alike were able to grab a cold beverage, catch up on the various football scores, enjoy some BBQ and live entertainment and mingle with the lovely Bud Light gals before heading back out for the end of the car show and the trophy presentations.
